Is traditional therapy just not cutting it anymore?

You’ve done the work. You’ve learned the skills. But something is still holding you back.

You’ve devote to weekly therapy sessions

At some point, many of us reach a threshold in therapy. You’ve been doing the work—showing up, speaking truth, digging deep—and yet something still feels out of reach. You might feel like you're circling the same issue again and again, wondering why real change hasn't landed yet.

That’s not because therapy isn’t working—it’s because certain kinds of healing require more space than a weekly 50-minute session can offer.

You’re seeking deeper, more concentrated healing

A healing intensive is a dedicated, structured space—spanning one, two, or three days—where you work deeply and intentionally with a therapist trained in trauma resolution, relational healing, and nervous system integration.

It’s not about quick fixes. It’s about creating the conditions for real, lasting transformation. Intensives allow for the kind of settling, unfolding, and integration that just isn't possible in traditional 50-minute sessions.

Whether you're working through trauma, relationship ruptures, or emotional exhaustion, intensives give you time to breathe, explore, and reconnect with clarity and support.

You’re in the right place.

At ELVT, we offer trauma-informed therapy intensives designed for individuals, couples, and families who are ready for something different. Something deeper. These intensives are for the moments when you know it’s time to do more than just manage the surface of the pain—you want to move through it.

Whether you're feeling stuck in your process or simply know you're ready for more focused, embodied healing, an intensive may be the space you've been searching for.

Why choose a healing intensive?

You may be wondering if an intensive is right for you.

At ELVT Mental Health, we’ve found that clients seek this immersive format for many powerful reasons:

HEAL FROM PAINFUL MEMORIES
You’ve tried therapy, read the books, maybe even started to make progress, but the past still lingers. Overwhelm shows up at the worst moments. A memory won't stop replaying. Something inside says: it’s time to go deeper. You’re ready for real change.

LET GO OF GUILT & SHAME
Maybe you’ve been living at odds with yourself—constantly blaming, shaming, and doubting. You long to believe that you did the best you could. An intensive gives space to untangle old beliefs and offer your parts the compassion they’ve never had.

FEEL MORE CALM & CONNECTED
Living on edge is exhausting. The smallest things tip you into stress or shut-down, and your relationships are starting to feel it. You want to feel like yourself again—and actually enjoy the people and moments that matter most.

FEEL EXCITED ABOUT LIFE AGAIN
When you’re carrying the weight of the world, it’s hard to remember joy. An intensive gives you the breathing room and support to feel lighter, more present, and more open to life again.

AND MAYBE YOU'RE ALSO...

  • Facing a major life transition—like becoming a parent, changing careers, or relocating

  • Unable to attend weekly therapy due to your schedule

  • Craving a retreat-style experience where everything is focused on your healing

  • Already in therapy, but needing something deeper and more impactful now

Whatever your reason, intensives offer you a rare gift: space to tend to yourself without distraction. A place to come back home to who you are.

This is a time to step away from the demands of daily life and step into a curated, compassionate space to meet yourself again.

Key Benefits:

  • Accelerated Progress – Condensing months of therapy into a few days allows couples to delve deeply into issues without prolonged time gaps.

  • Enhanced Emotional Connection – Extended sessions facilitate vulnerability and emotional reconnection.

  • Tailored Interventions – We base the intensive on a comprehensive pre-assessment and planning to address your unique relational dynamics.

  • Evidence-Based Approaches – We draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS)—all backed by research to improve relationship satisfaction.

Imagine finally getting to…

Resolve deep relational wounds

Relational wounds often cut the deepest. Whether it’s feeling unseen by a partner, chronically misunderstood by family, or abandoned in a time of need, these experiences can leave emotional imprints that shape how we show up with others—and with ourselves. Over time, these unresolved wounds can lead to disconnection, conflict, and self-protection that keeps intimacy and trust out of reach.

Therapy intensives offer a space to tend to these wounds with care, depth, and structure. With extended time and skilled guidance, we slow down the stories playing out in real-time and begin to understand the protective parts underneath. Whether you’re working as an individual, with your partner, or as a family, intensives help build bridges where walls once stood—restoring safety, compassion, and emotional connection.

Experience accelerated healing and long-lasting change

Therapy intensives at ELVT are more than extended sessions—they're curated experiences designed to foster breakthroughs that last. With time, presence, and expert guidance, you’ll have the space to move through what's been stuck for months or even years. Whether you come alone, with a partner, or with your family, you’ll experience focused healing in a setting that invites reconnection and real change.

Overcome Obstacles That Keep You Stuck in Recurring Patterns

One of the most common frustrations people share before starting an intensive is the feeling of being stuck—looping through the same emotional reactions, the same relationship arguments, or the same patterns of avoidance, despite knowing better. That’s because awareness alone isn’t always enough. Healing requires access to the deeper, often unconscious, parts of ourselves that keep those patterns in place.

Therapy intensives give us the space to do that. By slowing down and staying with what’s underneath, we can identify the protective parts that keep us safe but stuck, and begin working with them instead of against them. Whether you're navigating personal trauma, relational hurt, or family dynamics that feel impossible to shift, intensives offer a grounded and powerful container to break through what’s been holding you back.

  • Each of these approaches offers a different pathway to healing, and they can be especially powerful when combined in an intensive format:

    • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a trauma-focused approach that helps the brain reprocess painful memories so they no longer feel emotionally overwhelming. Through bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping), EMDR supports the brain’s natural ability to heal and integrate past experiences.

    • IFS (Internal Family Systems) is a model that sees the mind as made up of different "parts"—each with its own voice, role, and story. IFS helps you develop a relationship with these parts from a calm, compassionate inner Self, so that old protective strategies can soften and deeper wounds can begin to heal.

    • EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) is used primarily with couples to explore patterns of disconnection and unmet attachment needs. It helps partners move from cycles of blame and withdrawal into deeper emotional safety, connection, and responsiveness.

These methods go beyond surface-level insight—they tap into your emotional, somatic, and relational systems, offering profound opportunities for transformation.

  • While traditional therapy provides consistent, weekly support over time, intensives offer a condensed, immersive experience that allows for deeper work in a shorter span. Rather than spending weeks warming up to an issue, intensives create the space to fully engage, explore, and integrate in real-time—often resulting in significant breakthroughs that would take months in standard therapy.

In addition, life often happens between sessions—meaning progress can be disrupted by new stressors, crises, or emotional shifts that redirect the focus. In a typical 50-minute session, check-ins and logistical updates can leave only 30–35 minutes for deep therapeutic work. Intensives remove that fragmentation and offer sustained momentum so clients can stay connected to the core of the issue without interruption.

  • If you’re interested in exploring methods such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)—and are open to incorporating experiential work rather than just traditional talk therapy—an intensive could be a great fit for you.

You may also be an ideal candidate if you’re feeling stuck in your current therapy, are eager for meaningful progress, or want to work through something specific in a focused and supported environment. Intensives are especially helpful for those who are motivated for change, able to emotionally engage with the work, and looking for an opportunity to step away from daily distractions to truly focus on healing. We’ll work together in a consult to assess whether this format is the right fit for you.

When might an intensive not be appropriate?
Intensives may not be the best option if you're currently in crisis, actively struggling with substance use without additional support, experiencing unmanaged dissociation, or dealing with acute suicidality. In these cases, ongoing therapy, psychiatric care, or medical stabilization may be more appropriate. At ELVT, we take time to assess fit and readiness to ensure your safety and the success of the experience.

  • Healing Intensives are not covered by insurance.

  • Therapy intensives are well-suited for addressing trauma, relational conflict, emotional overwhelm, chronic stress, shame, grief, life transitions, and internal struggles such as anxiety or perfectionism. They're especially powerful when you feel stuck in therapy or are ready to make meaningful, accelerated progress.

  • To make the most of your intensive, we provide a structured preparation process to help you clarify your goals and give your therapist the information needed to tailor your experience. This includes a pre-intensive workbook (for new clients) to reflect on your history, concerns, and what you hope to gain. You’ll also participate in a 90-minute pre-intensive session where we set intentions, explore specific themes, and ensure the format fits your needs. This prep allows us to begin the intensive already grounded in your story—so we can go deeper, faster, and with greater care.

  • If you’re feeling curious, called, or even just slightly ready—your next step is simple. Schedule a free consultation with us. During this call, we’ll explore your needs, answer your questions, and assess whether an intensive is the right fit for you.

If we decide to move forward, we’ll guide you through our pre-intensive process, including sending you a personalized workbook and setting up your 90-minute prep session. From there, we’ll craft a custom experience that honors your story, your pace, and your goals.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. You just need a willingness to take that first step.

  • Absolutely! Therapy Intensives work very well as an adjunct therapy. I would ask that you sign a Release of Information so that your current therapist and I can collaborate/coordinate to best serve you.
